9.4 Release Readiness Reports & Quality Provenance

Elevating test execution into verifiable Quality Provenance with deterministic results fingerprints, Wilson 95% Confidence Intervals, and Developer PR Badges.

From Disposable Test Logs to Quality Provenance

Section titled “From Disposable Test Logs to Quality Provenance”

Traditional test automation has long treated test runs as disposable: compute minutes are rented, browsers click buttons, messy JUnit XML reports are produced, and if a build turns red, developers often re-run or ignore it until it passes. CertiQA elevates quality from disposable execution into verifiable Quality Provenance – turning test runs into tamper-evident, structured release evidence that engineering leaders can take directly to executive leadership, auditors, and enterprise customers.

When engineering leadership signs off on a production release, CertiQA computes a SHA-256 digest over the canonical JSON manifest containing:

Certificate Provenance Pipeline

  1. Suite Manifest Snapshot: Hash of all test cases, steps, locator candidates, and assertions.
  2. Execution Run Record: Run ID, timestamp, target environment, and commit SHA.
  3. Statistical Metrics: Pass rate, run count, Wilson 95% Confidence Interval lower/upper bounds.
  4. Signoff Endorsements: Signer identity, role, timestamp, and audit trail ledger ID.

A raw pass rate of “100% on 3 test runs” is statistically meaningless compared to “99.2% on 2,000 test runs”. CertiQA computes the Wilson score interval with continuity correction to provide statistically honest confidence lower bounds:
